Wild Ricing in NW Wisconsin

Hey folks …. Jeff here with a super fun video taken here the first week of September as I am wild ricing with my good friend Connie. Yep, I am on the water …. but not with a fly rod.

There are just so many incredible things to do here in Northern Wisconsin and going for wild rice is something I have wanted to do for a while now. When Connie asked me at church if I could stand up in a canoe …. well, I told her I thought so and as you can see in the video …. I didn’t actually need to.

We harvested about 15 pounds in our two hours on the water …. and had a great day to boot! I hope you have an opportunity to visit this part of Wisconsin and in particular … the Northwest portion at some point in the near future.

I will be adding content from Up North here in Wisconsin at various points and hope you enjoy this in addition to the fly fishing videos and info.

I really enjoyed the video. That was my Dad and Mom’s canoe. It was a great honor to see you ricing in his canoe. He with Jesus now, I’m sure he’s looking down and smiling at your hard work. He loved to share his passion of the outdoors with everyone.

Loved this video! You and Connie make a good team😀. I am very impressed at how good you did using a pole to move the canoe through the rice while standing in it. There is definitely an adventure every day here in Northwest Wisconsin.

Jackie, thx for the view and kind words….actually I was sitting and was able to manipulate the pole well while sitting….thus staying dry!😉
