The following video was taken in a small creek in southern Indiana. The beauty of the fish is that I have caught this same smallie 3 times this spring and summer from two different pools. The fish is a tad over 18 inches and had a very distinct rounded forehead…and is a real fighter on a 3 weight rod. If there is ever a reason to practice catch and release then this is it! As you will see in the video the fish was released and went the wrong way up the creek and at this time we were still deep into a drought…thus the fish ran out of creek/water and had to pull in beside a submerged rock and pout. The camera I am shooting the scene with is an Olympus TG-610 and is an underwater camera that takes incredible video. Anyway….lots of luck and many bent rods to all of you.
