Video – How To Tie A Wooly Bugger

Every fly fisherman has a wooly bugger pattern and this is the one that I tie and have had much success on. As you will notice in the video, I tie in a long tail and do so because you can always trim the tail while on the water. This pattern is a trout killer and I have taken some of my largest fish on black with a splash of gold flashabou. I also like this pattern on sunny days for bass and retrieve it somewhat quickly over vegetation or parallel to weedy edges. It is an easy fly to tie and frankly can be used for anything from bluegills to tarpon…so get them.
