Video – How To Tie A Hoosier Streamer

This video shows me while I tie a fly I call the Hoosier Streamer…because it is mostly red/white and I am a Hoosier. This fly has been extremely good for me this spring and I have had success fishing it with floating line.

The weighted eyes (1/40th ounce) in red give the fly the weight needed to yo-yo the fly up and down giving it some incredible action. The tail can either be bunny strips or white marabou and I tie a flash of blue or red flashabou in with the tail. The body is a medium pearl gray palmer to give it a shad like shine and the head is tied with white deer hair and trimmed to your preference.

When fishing the fly don’t be afraid to give it a few or a couple strips and let it sink slowly…then hold on. You can regulate the depth you are fishing the fly by how long you allow it to sink and if you need it deeper….go to a weighted line. Give this a try and you won’t be sorry. I have caught every species we have in our area on this one fly. Have fun and lots of bent rods.
