Oh, what a night …. as the 70’s song says. Once in a while all the stars align and weather, water and flies are on the same page …. which results in an awesome experience on the water. I was able to float about 5 miles of one of my favorite NW Wisconsin rivers in search of big smallmouth on the fly. As you see from the video … the fish were chasing and truly believed that my white “reversed tied bucktail” fly was indeed a meal!
I love the outdoors …. but when it all comes together and beauty is all around, it feels more like church than it does fishing. Maybe you have experienced this yourself … if so, you know how cathartic a trip like this is for the soul!
If you are curious about the fly I am using, click here and you can watch me giving a fly-tying demo of the “reversed-tied bucktail”.
I hope you love the video and, as always, if you have any questions you can leave a comment for me below in the comment section and I will get back to you as soon as I can. God Bless and many bent fly rods to you!
