It is funny who you run into and who you become friends with? A few years back I received an email from Elliot’s brother, Andrew …. who was giving me some good info about a river up here in NW Wisconsin that I should try. Oddly enough I now live within 3 miles of that very river and fish it often.
This past March, Vickie and I moved lock, stock and barrel to Burnett County Wisconsin. We had already joined a local church, The River Church, and one Sunday prior to service I was talking to a friend and this tall kid saddled over to me and introduced himself … it was none other than Andrew’s brother, Elliot. He had watched some of my videos and apparently recognized my voice.
We have, since, struck up a friendship. In fact we are both doing some substitute teaching at a local high school. I wanted to share Elliot’s info on his guiding business, Jacobson Outdoors, with the many of you who have contacted me these past couple of years. Originally I wanted to go into the guiding business as well … but frankly, I have too many irons in the fire. We are building our cabin this year, along with a new garage …. and in just a few days I start a new career with the Wisconsin DNR where I will be working 40 hours per week through mid to late September. So, bottom line is I don’t have the time and frankly didn’t want to fool with all the rules and regs associated with guiding on a national park (which the Namekagon and St. Croix Rivers actually are).
So, if you are looking for an exceptional time up here in God’s country … whether it be fly fishing for smallies or just canoeing with your family … or you need shuttle service, please contact Elliot. He is an incredible young Christian man and has both the knowledge and the means to help you have an extraordinary day out on the many waters of NW Wisconsin. I have looked over his website, services and pricing sheet and can tell you that if you book with him … you will be getting a great day at a great rate! Feel free to contact Elliot soon at JacobsonOutdoors.com or by email at jacobsonoutdoors@gmail.com as his schedule is booking quickly … and hey, tell him FlyFishingwithJeff sent you!

A Lazy Day for Smallmouth and Pike On The Fly

Hot Fishing, Cold Water on the St Croix River
