Hey folks …. Jeff here and I am now full time here in NW Wisconsin, Burnett County to be exact. The past 5-6 months have been some of the busiest times of my life and if you have ever moved then you know how much ‘accumulation’ goes on when you have lived somewhere for 25 years and raised kids there as well.
We are settled on our property up here in Wisconsin and will be starting our build on our log cabin any day … in fact the logs from Maine are here with us … just need for the weather to cooperate and open up all the road bans so we can get the heavy equipment needed on site.
In today’s video I am fishing for wild brookies (brook trout) on a small stream just a few miles from our property … and what a bonus to find catchable numbers of fish so close by! You can see as you watch the video how beautiful the woods of Wisconsin actually are in early May.
I hope you enjoy both the fishing and my review of the past few months and most of what has transpired for us as a family. If you have any questions you can post those below in the comment section or by emailing me directly at flyfishingwithjeff@gmail.com. I will do my best to get back to you in a timely fashion.

Another day on the upper St Croix River and another great adventure for my good friend Duane and myself. The air was cool and there was some rain in and around us … barometer was falling and the fish were biting, especially a few big pike and smallmouth bass. What a complete treasure to have […]
Up Close and Personal: One Of My Best Smallmouth Days Ever!
Another awesome day on the St Croix River … lots of smallmouth bass and several over 16 inches with the largest coming in a tad over 20 inches. Every once in a while all the stars align as they did on this day and the fish are up and eager to eat one of my […]
The Highs and Lows of Fly Fishing
If you have watched any of my videos then you probably have seen the bible verse at the end slide of each video, Gal 6:9. There are a few versions but the one I stuck on as a kid is as follows: Let us not get tired in doing what is right, for after a […]
