Greetings from Fly Fishing with Jeff with another adventure here in NW Wisconsin as we float 4 miles of one of the most beautiful rivers in America, the St Croix … located just a few miles down the road from our cabin.
It was Memorial Day and the start of summer; temps in the 80’s are welcomed as it has been a long winter and cold spring here in northern Wisconsin. The river had just enough flow to keep me moving along and enough water to get through most of the rocky areas without too much trouble.
I would love to tell you I caught a batch of big smallmouth but the truth is the pike were so aggressive that they were beating the smallies to my fly. In fact I landed a pair of near 30 inch pike back to back, as you will see in the video and at one point lost a very large pike that I would guess was mid 30 inch class.
I hope you enjoy the video and the beauty of the river … as always you can leave a question or comment below and I will do my best to get back to you with a good answer. You can also email me at flyfishingwithjeff@gmail.com.

Low Water, Upstream Wind And A 20 Inch Smallmouth Bass
