As momma said, there’d be days like this and for sure this was one of those days. At my put-in I rowed back upstream for about 100 foot to see if I could catch a big smallie that had evaded me on prior trips; as you will see … this time I was the victor. At nearly 19 inches it was the fish of the day … although there were a few others that were also in the ‘very nice’ range.
The highlight of the day came for me as I used my popper to land 7 nice smallmouths in succession. That is right …. one after the other. What an incredible pool and who knows how many fish may have been lurking nearby!
