Greetings and welcome to a very simple video of me fly fishing from my float tube for bluegill and largemouth bass. I was simply sitting on my front porch and decided to go catch a few fish … and in about 10 minutes I was on the lake!
Being able to get to one of our many lakes in a short amount of time is very nice, but to be able to catch loads of fish on my 3 wt rod/reel is even better. It doesn’t take much to have a good couple of hours when you have a fly rod in hand and the ease of a float tube is so nice …. a few pumps to get the pressure up and off you go!
I hope you have someplace like this to give it a go for yourself … if you do, why wait? If you haven’t yet tried fly fishing from a float tube then by all means, give it a go. You can find a nice outfit, including fins for under $200 at several locations and the versatility is out of this world.

Jeff I noticed when you got into your float tube your were wearing some type protection on you legs. I was wondering what you had on your legs. I live in Minnesota and I live about 20 min away from the St Croix River. I also have a great number of lakes within 30 minutes of my home. I have in the past used chest waders with boots. I find that I am restricted in the waders. Can you suggest a float tube and maybe the kick fins?
