Greetings and welcome to another video here on FlyFishingWithJeff.com. Today, I am out on the St Croix River in search of big smallmouth bass. We had a rough winter and the snow melt was very high …. which has limited my time on the river and I believe has held the fish from making their migration back upstream.

The water is special up here and while I didn’t find a lot of fish, I did manage to land a 20 plus inch smallmouth that was as deep and black as the water it is surrounded by.
To say the St Croix is special is an understatement … the river is very special and near and dear to my heart. There is a special peace that you find while slowly drifting down the black waters; with an occasional blast from a smallmouth…hard to beat!
