Hey folks …. welcome back to 2023 another year and another video at FlyFishingWithJeff.com! We survived our first winter in the north woods of Wisconsin and it was a doozy! In fact, we had over 125 inches of snow and got the largest dump of snow, around 25 inches …. in mid December! To say it was a long winter is an understatement and to once again be out on the water was a real treat!
Not only have I been out on the water but I was able to harvest my first turkey of the year just a week earlier and did so in fantastic fashion … and I have included some photos for you to peruse.

The fishing was fast and furious and I was able to land a few species …. bass, blue gill, crappie and the target species, brook trout. I also was able to hook up with a very nice 18 inch brookie and on my 2 wt, it was a real fun battle.

Anyway, we are back at it and have lots of fun fly fishing adventures planned for 2023 as our rivers are now returning to normal from the snow melt and the smallmouth bass should be moving back upstream and into our waters soon … so, pay attention for more videos and adventures from NW Wisconsin to be coming your way soon.
As always, if you have any questions you can leave those for me in the comment section below or contact me via email at flyfishingwithjeff@gmail.com and I will do my best to get back to you as quickly as I can. Have a great day!

The Highs and Lows of Fly Fishing
If you have watched any of my videos then you probably have seen the bible verse at the end slide of each video, Gal 6:9. There are a few versions but the one I stuck on as a kid is as follows: Let us not get tired in doing what is right, for after a […]
