Today is the opener for fishing season here in Wisconsin and for me, it was a lot of fun. The climate up here in the north woods is pretty amazing and after a very long winter … people were in a mood of enjoying both fishing and the great weather that we had on this day.
This lake is small … just 14 acres, but is stocked by the DNR for brook trout … what surprised me the most was the number of other species that I found in great quantities. I caught some nice crappie …. mostly 8-10 inches with a few just slightly larger. I also caught a number of bluegill and bass … which added some spice to the day.
All in all it was a very invigorating day to be out on the water enjoying the float tubing and fly fishing and the awesome weather we were having on this day. Thanks to my good friend Tim Overom for clueing me in on this great little body of water.
