Greene-Sullivan Bass Video

Welcome back to 2015… I have a video for you taken in early April at a small lake, Airline Lake, here in southern Indiana in the Greene-Sullivan State Forest. I was there to trout fish… and did catch a few in the front portion of the lake, but moved to the back part and concentrated on bass and as you will see, the water temps had risen and turned the fish on. It was good to be on water…and catching fish, hope you enjoy.

Low Water Fly Fishing Tactics for Smallmouth

In today’s video adventure I am once again back on the upper St Croix River with my good buddy, Duane. We do 3-4 miles of clear and low river water in search of big smallmouth and luckily along the way … we find a few! On this day it was a trifecta of issues; low […]

A Lazy Day for Smallmouth and Pike On The Fly

Another day on the upper St Croix River and another great adventure for my good friend Duane and myself. The air was cool and there was some rain in and around us … barometer was falling and the fish were biting, especially a few big pike and smallmouth bass. What a complete treasure to have […]

Up Close and Personal: One Of My Best Smallmouth Days Ever!

Another awesome day on the St Croix River … lots of smallmouth bass and several over 16 inches with the largest coming in a tad over 20 inches. Every once in a while all the stars align as they did on this day and the fish are up and eager to eat one of my […]

The Highs and Lows of Fly Fishing

If you have watched any of my videos then you probably have seen the bible verse at the end slide of each video, Gal 6:9. There are a few versions but the one I stuck on as a kid is as follows: Let us not get tired in doing what is right, for after a […]

    Thanks for sharing.
I live in Northern Kentucky, near Cincinnati, Ohio. Headed down to Green-Sullivan the end of May with a group for the Northern Kentucky Fly Fishers. I wonder if I might get some suggestions from you as the time gets a little closer?

    Hi Jeff,

I have watched a number of your Youtube videos and really enjoy them. You have a good narration/storytelling demeanor and voice and are a pleasure to watch and listen to.

I notice you like Bennett Springs. We have gone to Montauk a number of times and not tried Bennett Springs. Have you been to Montauk, and if so what makes Bennett Springs a better destination in your opinion?

I think I will try it for myself either in May or September but just thought you might have some insight to offer.
    Thanks

    Don,
Check out the website this week…there are some very nice bass lurking in these waters…I was able to land a big bass earlier in April at one of the strip pits….I can give you some ideas to “hone” in on good waters later towards your trip here. There are hundreds of lakes and narrowing things down might get your going a bit quicker.

    Jeff
