Current River Below Montauk State Park Video

This video was filmed the third week in March while fly fishing the Current River which is fed by Montauk Spring. Montauk is one of Missouri’s four trout parks and the overflow move down into the river and create a nice population of catchable … sort of wild trout. The stream is a Blue Ribbon stream and therefore you  are only allowed to keep one trout per day and it must be over 18 inches. There are also some nice browns within the river and I have personally seen a couple of real bruisers that would push the 30 inch mark. Give the video a watch and I hope that the next time you are in central Missouri … just south of Salem …. you can stop in and give the river a fish.
