Hey folks …. welcome back to another video. Today, I am off the water and trying to do my best to answer the questions regarding float tubes (still water) and float boats (moving water).
Over the years I have received many questions that ask this about this simple premise …. what is your recommendation for a float tube as I would like to fish a river nearby like you do? That leads me to the explanation of which vessel, float tube or float boat is appropriate for a river, aka moving water. Knowing which float vessel is best for which water dynamic is very important to have a successful outing. I also go into my choice for float tube (The Creek Company’s ODC 420) and my choice for float boat (Outcast Fish Cat Scout). We also talk about kick fins and when to use as well as which pair is the best for your time on the water.
On a side note … I have been notified that The Creek Company is out of the ODC 420’s and currently are not offering the large kick fins either; that is too bad as these were good products, but not surprising as the communication with the company was and has been poor for a long time. So, that being the case, I would take a serious look at the float tubes offered by Outcast. There are several models to choose from and while they are a bit more pricey … probably worth every penny. As for kick fins, I like the these Classic Accessories Turbo Thruster Fins that I found on Amazon … and reasonably at $40!
In my ‘from the front porch’ segment I discuss wives and how important they are in long term happiness! Lord knows that I hit the jack-pot with my wife Vickie. She is simply put, the best person I have ever known … and one heck of a driver when it comes time to drop me off or pick me up as I take yet another trip down one of our many NW Wisconsin Rivers!
I hope you enjoy the video and remember that if you have a question or comment you can use the comment section located below and I will do my best to get back to you quickly and with a good answer.
